Texas Motor Speedway hosted Pro2, this was the 3rd round of 4, with the series finals in Phoenix.
Marc Landreville had a strong lead coming into Texas, winning 1st last round in Orlando. In 2nd place Jeff Jones was just 5 points away from the champion.
This track was a new challenge for many of the drivers. Texas is a flat course with large sweeping turns; it take a large amount of horsepower to make this course work.
On Thursday, drivers got in as much practice as they could before qualifying that night. This track took a full throttle commitment. Judges stressed on throttle zones around the course.
Mechanical problems plagued many, as the heat affected the drivers and cars. Driver Kelsey Rowlings went into the wall hard breaking much of her rear suspension and cracking rims. Amazingly her team was able to get the car back in time for her to make both of her qualifying passes.
Qualifying number one was Nate Hamilton in the Enjuku Racing, Fortune Auto built S13.4
